Magic Zoom
Participants in this workshop explored a range of narratives around the Makkyo (Magic) Mirror – from its microstructural qualities to the narratives that underpin its technical secrets, scientific principles and metaphysical purposes.
Through the construction of phenakistoscopes, we took imaginative journeys exploring stop motion techniques and electronics. All works formed part of an immersive installation at Kyoto Institute of Technology D-lab’s gallery, Japan.
